If you're looking for the perfect brass-busting shampoo and conditioner formula, look no further. Redken has recently come out with the holy grail of toning for trendy granny grays, and they call it Graydiant. If you want to see this color care duo in action, read on for the full first-hand experience from GBG marketing guru, Liz (complete with before and after pics).
"I've rocked my grey hair for a couple years now, and have tried just about every purple shampoo product on the market for eliminating yellows and warm tones in my hair. For the most part, they've all worked (well, sort of). That being said, nothing really gave me a knockout before and after like this one.
The last time I had my hair professionally toned was in September, so I'd been giving my hair a little break from damage the past couple months by steering clear of the salon. Naturally, taking the low maintenance route on my blonde hair was showing through the warmth that was starting to take over my head where cool, grey tones once resided. I needed help, but did not want to make the trip to the salon.
Enter: Redken's Graydiant Shampoo and Conditioner system. This is a purple shampoo, but specially formulated for GRAY hair, not just white/silver blonde. But the question remained: is it too good to be true?
After using the system for 3 weeks, I have to be honest: this stuff totally lives up to expectations. My hair has definitely cooled down from where I was, and the formula isn't drying like most other purple shampoos. The conditioner is also a huge factor in the results; most purple shampoos are strictly shampoos, and don't really have a tinted conditioner to seal in that color. The conditioner itself is actually gray in color and the shampoo is purple. The reason why that's important? The purple neutralizes the yellow, and they grey conditioner deposits the color.
The photo on the left is my before, no purple shampoo for a month, and no professional toning since September. The photo on the right is 3 weeks into using the Redken Graydiant Shampoo and Conditioner. Not only is my color on POINT, but my hair feels healthier, softer and more manageable!"
