Before I had my son three years ago, I was sure I would be able to remain as busy as ever. My plan was to simply incorporate him into my life, and already existing routine. I would always have time to do my hair and makeup, and I would never trade my heels for flats.
These days, I am grateful not only for my comfortable shoes, but finding ways to get ready in the least amount of time possible. There is a lot to do, and too much fun to be had to worry about makeup, and styling hair if I’m not working. What I do focus on, are the products that are going to help me maintain healthy skin, and hair.
- Skipping makeup is fine with me, but skipping skincare is not. I use my Dermalogica Scrub, mask, and lotions regularly. It’s proven to be the kindest, and most effective to my sensitive skin.
- Moisturizing is huge for me, especially in the Utah heat. When my face is makeup-free, I lotion through the day with Dermalogica Active Moist.
- I love to let my hair air dry in the summer, giving it a break from heat, but I always slather the ends with Moroccanoil after a shower. It smells so good, and leaves my hair smooth and healthy.
- I don’t often step away from my boy, but the occasional time-out to pamper always does me good. A spray tan, manicure, lashes, and a facial are some of my favorites when I need a reminder that self-care is still important for a busy mama.
Fast-forward to the present, and I am laughing at how differently things went. The truth is, you can’t possibly know what kind of mom you’ll be, or how to adjust to your new baby until you meet them.
